  • BERT BRUGGEMAN

    COO BIOMASON
    CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF ‘THE BIG OCEAN CLEANUP’

    On a mission to inspire young people to be their best self in their quest of building a more sustainable planet, Bert Bruggeman is currently the COO at Biomason, a US based biotech company, and the Chairman of The Ocean Cleanup, a Netherlands based NGO that deploys technologies to rid the oceans and rivers of plastic.

    Upon graduating from KU Leuven, he started his career at imec. After moving to Silicon Valley for adventure and opportunity, he worked with world-class innovators and entrepreneurs, and has been part of teams that changed the world with unique semiconductor devices (Cypress), solar cell substrates (SunEdison), robotics solutions (Kindred), the best selling EV (Tesla), and the world's first biology based cement (Biomason).

    He has held positions from an engineer in the factory to the executive leader in the C-suite. He also engages with innovators as an executive advisor and coach to help accelerate their innovative ideas to the marketplace.

    CO-INVENTOR OF CLICKSHARE

    Throughout his career, Yoav Nir has been involved in the development of numerous cutting-edge technologies.

    He is co-inventor of ClickShare, an innovation that he championed and helped bring to market to become one of Barco’s most successful products.

    Yoav was co-founder of the start-up Magicor that was acquired by Granstudio in 2022. He is currently responsible for the Sales and marketing of the mixed reality design tool ‘DigiPHY’ at Granstudio.

    He is also a Virtual and Augmented Reality pioneer and the author of ‘Game-changing Innovation’.

    Lynn Wesenbeek is a true veteran in the world of media and business, and therefore she is the perfect moderator for ‘Hardware Unlocked’.

    Due to her expertise as journalist and newsreader, she is able to handle many topics. For instance, she has in-depth knowledge of the circular economy, sustainability, innovation and healthcare. These are all topics that will be handled during our full-day event!
